The Director of Major Gifts builds and manages individual and foundation donor pipelines, cultivating and securing five- and six-figure gifts. Responsibilities include prospect mapping, donor solicitation and stewardship, foundation relationship development, executive and board partnership, event engagement, fundraising strategy, pipeline analysis, and Salesforce tracking. The role works closely with the Chief Philanthropy Officer and represents the organization within San Francisco philanthropic networks.

Supports childcare providers by conducting orientations and intake interviews, maintaining provider files, updating databases and rate documentation, resolving data and contract issues, and communicating with subsidy and family services staff. The role also develops training materials, manages meetings and departmental operations, presents program information, and supports compliance activities. Bilingual English/Spanish communication, strong organization, attention to detail, and independent work are essential.

Leads the provider enrollment team responsible for eligibility determination, onboarding, subsidy payments, and ongoing participation in publicly funded childcare programs. Oversees government contract obligations, data systems, reporting, policy updates, process improvements, customer satisfaction, and cross-department initiatives. Manages and mentors a diverse team, develops support materials and training, analyzes provider feedback and operational data, and represents the organization with public entities and community partners.
