Teams at Chicago Shakespeare Theater

Leads daily operations and program delivery for arts education initiatives, including student matinees, teacher professional development, workshops, and lifelong learning. Manages staff and teaching artists, school partnerships, event logistics, communications, reporting, grant support, databases, and program evaluation. Requires frequent Saturday and occasional evening work, primarily at Chicago Shakespeare Theater facilities and off-site venues.

The Literary Manager supports the Artistic Director in commissioning and developing new theatrical works. Responsibilities include evaluating scripts, managing submissions, maintaining tracking systems, cultivating playwright relationships, coordinating readings and workshops, providing dramaturgical support during development and rehearsals, contributing to season planning, and preparing audience, education, and grant materials. The role requires strong literary analysis, writing, editing, communication, collaboration, and knowledge of contemporary theater.

Manages the theater’s IT infrastructure, cloud systems, networks, servers, workstations, applications, cybersecurity, backups, communications systems, and help desk. Oversees user onboarding and offboarding, troubleshooting, training, vendor and MSP relationships, technology budgets, contracts, and technology planning. Maintains Tessitura systems and supports interfaces with theater, facilities, and building technologies. The role is primarily onsite, with on-call and occasional after-hours responsibilities.
