Supervises greenhouse, conservatory, nursery, and outdoor horticultural operations. Propagates, cultivates, transplants, waters, and maintains plants, shrubs, and trees; oversees pest and fungus treatment; manages greenhouse conditions; maintains floral displays; operates horticultural equipment; and instructs subordinate staff.

Performs and supervises floriculture and horticulture work in park conservatories, nurseries, propagating houses, and indoor or outdoor floral areas. Diagnoses plant problems, prepares soil, maintains beds, plants and transplants specimens, applies and stores pesticides and other chemicals, uses floriculture tools and equipment, assists the public with plant care, and instructs apprentices.

Supervises recreation and leisure programming at a park playground or facility. Duties include managing instructional, maintenance, and volunteer staff; overseeing safety, repairs, inventory, records, facility use, athletic events, community programs, and public communications. The role coordinates activities with community groups, recruits and trains volunteers, enforces safety rules, and ensures facilities are properly maintained.
