Chicago Cares

Chicago Cares is Chicago's leading nonprofit volunteer service organization, founded in 1991 by Leslie Bluhm and Mary Prchal. It mobilizes volunteers to build a stronger, more unified Chicago, offering community-driven volunteerism and leadership development for individuals and corporations. Its structured group volunteer programs address pressing city needs—education, environment, hunger, health and wellness, and senior services—while strengthening the capacity of hundreds of local agencies and schools.
