Contribute to CERN Courier’s print and digital editions by researching high-energy physics developments, generating ideas, fact-checking, proofreading, commissioning and editing articles, interviewing physicists, writing news and features, curating the website, managing social media, and coordinating with authors, institutions, publishing partners, and CERN communications colleagues.

Develop and qualify cryogenic instrumentation for CERN accelerator environments, including pressure, level, temperature, and heater systems. Maintain and extend LabVIEW-based test benches, develop facilities for electronic-card qualification and sensor calibration, analyze test data, and provide field diagnostics, maintenance, and repair support across cryogenic plants, accelerators, and test facilities. The role also involves multidisciplinary collaboration, R&D, student supervision, and work in radiation areas and underground installations.

Conduct vacuum acceptance testing, residual gas analysis, leak testing, bake-out installation, and NEG activation for HL-LHC components. Assemble, install, commission, maintain, upgrade, and repair mechanical and vacuum systems in underground and radiation-area environments. Prepare technical documentation and test reports, coordinate suppliers and procurement, and support equipment delivery. The role requires practical UHV experience, helium leak detection knowledge, mechanical installation skills, a valid driving licence, and English or French proficiency.
