Manages daily operations, staffing, workflow, training, equipment, quality control, and regulatory compliance across pathology laboratory sites. Supports inspections, process improvement, specimen collection practices, and staff performance while coordinating with physicians, hospitals, patients, and company personnel. Requires frequent travel between sites, pathology knowledge, and adherence to HIPAA, CAP, DOH, CLIA, SOP, and PPE requirements.

Accession pathology cases for consultations and conferences, distribute specimens and reports, process legal and send-out requests, support pathologists, answer client inquiries, perform quality assurance checks, troubleshoot specimen and report issues, and maintain accurate records. The role requires strong customer service, proofreading, data entry, organization, and familiarity with medical terminology or anatomic pathology.

Safely transport pathology specimens, slides, supplies, and reports between clients and laboratory locations. Maintain and stock the company vehicle, complete intake paperwork, handle will-call stops, communicate client needs, and follow HIPAA, SOP, PPE, and safety requirements while providing professional customer service.

The Pathologists’ Assistant triages and grosses surgical specimens ranging from simple to complex under pathologist supervision. Duties include gross photography, tissue handling for special studies, specimen troubleshooting, case reaccessioning, auditing codes, assisting with research, and training staff. The role requires ASCP certification, adherence to HIPAA and laboratory safety procedures, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume pathology laboratory.

Performs routine and specialized immunohistochemistry staining on tissue specimens using automated instruments and manual techniques. Prepares slides, conducts quality control, validates reagents, troubleshoots staining issues, maintains laboratory equipment, manages controls and supplies, and distributes cases to pathologists. Requires HT/HTL ASCP certification and two years of histology experience; IHC experience is preferred.

Prepares and processes tissue samples for pathologist examination and diagnosis. Maintains histology equipment, performs frozen sections and immunohistochemistry testing, prepares reagents, labels and distributes slides, manages hazardous waste, and documents quality control activities. The role requires adherence to HIPAA, SOP, PPE, and laboratory safety standards, with rotating weekend on-call duties.

Supervises daily operations across pathology laboratory sites, including staffing, scheduling, training, workflow, quality control, equipment troubleshooting, regulatory compliance, and process improvement.
