Operate diesel-electric locomotives to transport freight safely and efficiently. Interpret train orders, signals, and FRA/company rules; communicate with dispatch; inspect and perform minor maintenance on locomotives and cars; couple/uncouple cars; perform switching and yard operations; prepare reports and paperwork; monitor track and weather conditions; follow safety procedures and wear required PPE.

Coordinate and execute safe freight train and yard switching operations. Read and follow dispatcher orders, timetables, and FRA rules; prepare reports; inspect cars and track conditions; operate switches and equipment; perform physically demanding tasks; respond to changing conditions and safety concerns; advance to engineer as required.

The role involves managing bridge engineering projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, conducting inspections, designing structures, and overseeing budgets while collaborating with other departments and external agencies.
