Captivation Software Benefits Overview

Provides administration and sustainment for large-scale Linux systems, including software installation, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, security compliance, and infrastructure optimization. Supports compute, networking, memory, storage, virtualization, automation, containers, and distributed filesystems. Uses Bash and Python scripting, Red Hat Satellite, Splunk, VMware ESXi, SaltStack, Ansible, Docker, and monitoring tools. Kubernetes, additional distributed filesystems, and Atlassian tools are preferred. Requires extensive systems administration experience, Security+ certification, and an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Monitor system health, availability, performance, and data pipelines on a 24/7 watch desk. Investigate alerts and incidents, perform authorized recovery actions, troubleshoot operating systems, applications, networks, and data flows, and escalate unresolved issues. Maintain tickets, shift logs, SOPs, metrics, reports, schedules, and customer status updates. Lead watch desk personnel, guide teammates, and conduct effective shift handoffs while supporting mission-critical systems.

Gather and decompose customer requirements, create Jira user stories and acceptance criteria, curate sprint backlogs, support developers, conduct functional testing, present features to government customers, collaborate with UX, and participate in Agile ceremonies. The role supports planning, design, implementation, and delivery of mission-critical software systems.
