Teams at Cancer Research UK (CRUK)

Provides commercially focused legal advice to Cancer Research Horizons across intellectual property, commercial, corporate, data protection, and related matters. Drafts and negotiates research, licensing, commercialisation, and spin-out agreements; manages disputes and external counsel; supports contract compliance, policies, risk management, legal resources, and staff training. Builds relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, and research partners while enabling oncology diagnostics and therapeutics development.

Leads Cancer Research UK's Corporate and Consumer Communications function and a team of six. Oversees integrated PR and multi-channel campaigns supporting fundraising, partnerships, trading, events, and brand objectives. Directs corporate communications, crisis communications, issues management, and reputation protection. Uses audience insight, data, and evaluation to guide decisions while managing stakeholders, budgets, and external agencies and fostering an inclusive, high-performing team culture.

Lead end-to-end qualitative and quantitative consumer research to inform marketing, fundraising and engagement strategy. Manage stakeholder relationships, external agencies, insight tools/tracking, translate findings into actionable recommendations, and oversee projects, budgets and timelines.
