Lead development and management of maritime compliance programs ensuring adherence to USCG, EPA, OSHA, DOT, and other regulations. Coordinate audits and inspections, liaise with regulators and auditors, support environmental and safety management, deliver training, identify and mitigate compliance risks, and collaborate with operations, legal, and executive teams.

Perform thorough inspections of tank barges before loading/unloading and after cleaning, verify cleanliness and inspect equipment, troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on engines, pumps, and related systems, ensure safety and environmental compliance, and travel daily to multiple locations to support barge operations.

Execute and improve onboarding and development for new hire mariners by facilitating Deckhand Orientation, conducting shoreside promotion assessments, performing vessel visits and onboard coaching, supporting training manager duties, and leading special projects to enhance retention and progression.

Inspect tank barges before and after loading, unloading, and cleaning. Perform mechanical troubleshooting and minor maintenance on pumps, engines, and deck equipment. Document findings, maintain cleanliness and safety, follow regulations, use PPE, and travel daily to multiple locations as needed.

Perform and supervise safe transfers of liquid cargo between barges and docks, inspect and maintain transfer and safety equipment, conduct pre-transfer barge inspections, respond to emergencies, liaise with customer dock personnel, and perform physically demanding tasks including lifting and climbing.
