Burnham Wood Charter School District is an open-enrollment, public charter school district headquartered in El Paso, Texas. Established in 1998 by the El Paso Education Initiative, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we proudly opened El Paso’s very first charter school campus. Today, our tuition-free district serves nearly 1,900 students across El Paso and Hudspeth counties, providing an innovative educational alternative focused heavily on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), alongside a robust appreciation for the arts. We operate three specialized learning environments tailored to prepare students for higher education and future global careers. Howard Burnham Elementary School serves grades Pre-K through 5th and focuses on early digital literacy, strong foundational sciences, and core academic values. Vista Del Futuro Elementary School offers high-performing educational integration from Kindergarten through 7th grade. The Da Vinci School for Science and the Arts serves grades 6 through 12 and has been formally designated as a Distinguished Texas T-STEM Academy by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), complete with a state-of-the-art Career and Technology Center.
