Teams at Buffalo Marine Service, Inc.

Performs deckhand duties aboard tugboats, including building and breaking tow, handling lines and rigging, docking, locking, vessel maintenance, inspections, cleaning, cooking, and environmental compliance. Works rotating watches and extended onboard schedules, maintains safe living and working conditions, assists with emergency firefighting and rescue operations, and communicates with vessel personnel, dispatchers, engineers, and regulators. Requires physical fitness, safety awareness, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work prolonged periods away from home.

Operate and prepare barges for safe loading/discharging of oil and petrochemical cargos, ensure regulatory paperwork and communication with dock personnel, handle lines/rigging, participate in vessel and barge maintenance and training, follow USCG and environmental regulations, work rotational watch and extended on-board schedules, and use required respirators and protective gear.

Operate and manage vessel navigation and onboard operations, supervise and train crew, ensure compliance with USCG and environmental regulations, perform maintenance and cargo handling, act as on-site coordinator in emergencies, and maintain safety and operational readiness during extended rotations at sea.
