Partners with finance and business stakeholders to provide budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, and financial planning insight. Supports month-end activities, analyzes financial information, presents recommendations, and provides constructive challenge to inform decisions. Ensures financial information is accurate and suitable for reporting while building trusted relationships and supporting continuous improvement.

Lead place-based growth activity across Yorkshire and Humberside by developing regional strategy, engaging stakeholders, and facilitating finance for high-potential SMEs. Build relationships with finance providers, investors, local leaders, and policymakers; identify commercial opportunities; support proposals and implementation; and use quantitative and qualitative analysis to inform strategy and measure outcomes. The role requires strong knowledge of SME access-to-finance ecosystems and practical experience with equity or debt instruments.

Leads financial risk management across credit, debt, equity, guarantees, structured finance, and venture capital portfolios. Provides independent challenge on underwriting, valuations, financial models, stress testing, due diligence, and risk appetite. Advises the CRO, Executive Committee, and Board, strengthens the Financial Risk Management Framework, ensures regulatory alignment and portfolio resilience, and develops future risk leaders.
