Supports customers using agricultural robotics by troubleshooting incidents, evaluating logs, triaging bugs, shipping software fixes in ROS2, C++, and Python, and developing SOPs and training materials. The role collaborates with robotics and AI teams, designs customer-focused hardware and software solutions, and travels to customer sites for complex deployments.

Own the embedded Linux platform powering Bonsai Robotics’ field fleet. Responsibilities include OTA updates, fleet provisioning and configuration, observability, Yocto-based OS and BSP maintenance, build and release infrastructure, cross-compilation, and cloud-connected monitoring. The engineer will collaborate across firmware, autonomy, and field operations teams while debugging systems from kernel and hardware layers through cloud services. Experience with robotics, CAN-connected controllers, unreliable connectivity, embedded firmware, and secure software delivery is valuable.

Leads cross-functional hardware and software development programs across Product, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain. Owns integrated plans, scope, budgets, schedules, dependencies, risks, resource tracking, and leadership reporting. Establishes program cadences, drives mitigation plans, aligns stakeholders, and formalizes scalable program management processes in a resource-constrained robotics startup. The role is primarily on-site in San Jose and Watsonville, California, with some travel for customers, partners, and field deployments.
