Design control arbitration and safety logic, debug networking and hardware issues, and operate software in production field environments. Use AI-assisted development tools for prototyping, testing, and debugging.

Designs and operates networking infrastructure for maritime autonomous platforms and the Mainstay data pipeline. Responsibilities include telemetry and mission-data connectivity, software-defined routing, secure overlays, mesh networks, edge and cloud integration, network hardening, and troubleshooting across unreliable field environments. The role requires cross-layer debugging, deployment ownership, and resilient connectivity across vessels, shore systems, radio, and satellite communications.

Coordinates a portfolio of unmanned surface vehicle engineering programs by maintaining project visibility, tracking dependencies, risks, resources, milestones, funding, and actions. Develops intake and readiness processes, prepares portfolio reviews and dashboards for engineering leadership, drives follow-up and escalations, and improves workflows across engineering, program management, procurement, manufacturing, customers, and vendors.

Leads multidisciplinary engineering projects from requirements and technical planning through design, procurement, integration, testing, field validation, demonstrations, and delivery. Owns the technical baseline, engineering schedule, risks, system-level tradeoffs, and cross-disciplinary execution across mechanical, electrical, controls, software, manufacturing, and systems integration teams. Works with customers, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Create software requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, user and developer documentation, and release notes for maritime autonomy systems. Partner with engineers and operators to clarify system behavior, support real-world deployments, and ensure documentation evolves with the software. Establish documentation standards, templates, version-control practices, and scalable knowledge-sharing processes. The role requires software documentation experience, engineering-environment familiarity, strong communication skills, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Designs and implements end-to-end security controls for autonomous maritime platforms, including vessel systems, ground control systems, communications, Linux environments, containers, and distributed infrastructure. Interprets vulnerability findings, drives remediation, hardens systems, strengthens authentication and access controls, validates fixes, reduces attack surfaces, and supports resilient operations under degraded conditions.
