The Intermediate Mechanical Designer independently prepares mechanical designs, drawings, calculations, specifications, bills of materials, and technical documentation. Responsibilities include AutoCAD drafting, mechanical systems layout, field investigations, QA/QC reviews, standards compliance, client and contractor coordination, project task tracking, and support for proposals and project delivery. The role requires collaboration across mining and industrial environments, ongoing professional development, travel to client sites, and adherence to safety, quality, and sustainable design practices.

Design and draft instrumentation and electrical systems for mine hoisting projects using AutoCAD. Perform QA/QC, site data collection, documentation, technical coordination, and client support. Coordinate assigned project tasks, track progress, identify issues, and recommend solutions. The role combines office-based engineering work with field visits and commissioning support across North America, requiring travel up to 25% of the time. Candidates will also develop specialized expertise, participate in training, and mentor junior designers.
