Leads nursing care during assigned shifts by directing nurse aides, administering medications and treatments, implementing care plans, transcribing physician orders, documenting resident care, completing assessments, participating in shift reports, educating support staff, maintaining safety and infection-control standards, and addressing staffing shortages. Requires an RN or LVN license in good standing, strong assessment and documentation skills, effective communication, organization, emergency responsiveness, and attention to detail.

Coordinates nursing home resident assessments, including admission, annual, quarterly, Medicare, and change-of-condition assessments. Ensures MDS accuracy, regulatory compliance, timely data transmission, documentation quality, and care-plan updates. Leads interdisciplinary meetings, prepares quality indicator reports, coordinates ancillary data reporting, and collaborates with nursing and other departments to support resident-centered care and billing accuracy.

The Assistant Director of Nursing supports resident care, staffing, nursing personnel management, documentation, care planning, infection control, MDS, performance improvement, and regulatory compliance. This role requires a licensed nurse with geriatric or long-term care experience, clinical judgment, leadership skills, and knowledge of nursing home regulations.
