BDC Benefits Overview

Provides client service and administrative support to the BDC Financing team. Responsibilities include resolving client inquiries, preparing proposals, letters of intent, contracts, and related documentation; obtaining signatures; maintaining accurate records; and following up with clients. The role also supports risk assessments, portfolio development, business development activities, and branch marketing events and communications.

Leads government-backed venture capital programs totaling billions in assets under management. Oversees fund investments, underwriting, negotiations, portfolio governance, capital activity, reporting, and compliance. Represents BDC on fund governance bodies, manages relationships with fund managers, institutional investors, and government stakeholders, and provides strategic insight into Canada’s venture capital ecosystem. Leads, coaches, and develops analysts while supporting program design, market research, and stakeholder communications.

Manages complex loan portfolio service requests, annual reviews, loan amendments, and conditions precedent. Analyzes financial and credit risks, recommends or authorizes restructuring solutions, and ensures compliance with policies. Leads workflow management, process improvements, technology adoption, coaching, onboarding, and team development while supporting the Regional Director and collaborating with Credit and Business Development teams.
