Baumer Foods, Inc. is a third-generation, family-owned New Orleans-based food manufacturer best known for Crystal Hot Sauce, which it began producing in 1923 after founder Alvin Baumer discovered the Crystal Pure recipe inside a sno-ball syrup company he had purchased. Today the company makes and bottles a broad portfolio of hot, wing, steak, soy, teriyaki, Worcestershire and Asian sauces, plus Figaro Liquid Smoke, at its Reserve, Louisiana facility, shipping millions of gallons annually to customers in more than 30 countries and offering private-label production for major U.S. retailers.
