Designs and engineers stationary and motion upholstery frames from designer concepts through production. Responsibilities include 3D modeling in Solid Edge, manufacturing drawings in AutoCAD, CNC preparation and programming, mockup and sample support, strength and durability engineering, production release, plant troubleshooting, revision control, and mentoring junior staff.

Manages Bassett Furniture’s window treatment, wall decor, and mattress categories, including merchandising, product launches, promotions, sales analysis, inventory replenishment, cost sheets, store support, custom quotes, and vendor relationships. Works with retail showrooms and suppliers while maintaining stocked mattress inventory. The role is hybrid in Bassett, Virginia, and may require travel to stores and furniture markets.

Build long-term customer relationships through interior design consultations, room makeovers, and relationship-based furniture sales. Design Consultants assess customer needs, recommend products and design solutions, present proposals, and close commissioned sales. The role requires color and texture coordination, strong communication, virtual appointments, live chats, customer visits, weekend and holiday availability, and performance against sales goals. Bassett provides product, sales, and design training, including interior design certification support.
