Teams at Barnhart Crane & Rigging

Aligns, anchors, assembles, tests, operates, maintains, and stores crane and rigging equipment. Selects cables, gears, shackles, and related equipment based on load requirements, directs hoisting operations, and safely moves or supports heavy materials through confined spaces. Requires mechanical reasoning, weight and measurement knowledge, physical ability, schedule flexibility, travel availability, overtime willingness, and successful completion of drug, fitness, and background checks.

Leads Barnhart’s project portfolio and project management program across its branch network. Establishes governance, processes, standards, reporting, and performance metrics; oversees project health, resource allocation, risks, and complex projects. Partners with cross-functional stakeholders to improve execution, implement project tools, support project teams, and drive accountability, safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Provides leadership, mentoring, project reviews, corrective-action guidance, and performance insights, including for nuclear-related projects.

Supports project managers with planning and coordination of heavy-lift, heavy-transport, and specialized rigging projects. Responsibilities include schedule development, cost tracking, customer submittals, project documentation, proposal support, meetings, site visits, and local field coordination. The intern gains exposure to equipment, project planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, and project execution while collaborating with engineers, superintendents, and field teams.
