The Banyan story was started in 2008 when a group of medical professionals and clinicians got together with a shared vision – to streamline data, making it more convenient and accessible in any healthcare setting.
The first innovative Banyan solution was an FDA-registered integrated display platform to help physicians in the Operating Rooms and Labs to focus on patients, not searching for data. It streamlined many systems into one display and enabled clinicians to access, collaborate and share information about patients, all on the same monitor, locally and virtually.
As Banyan has grown, we have developed more solutions that are designed to streamline access to information, enable collaboration across the continuum of care and to change the way care is delivered. In 2009, Workflow Management was launched to pinpoint and solve inefficiencies in healthcare delivery, through an innovative workflow tracking software solution. And then in 2014, we introduced a Fall Prevention Platform that enables a virtual sitter to monitor up to 20 high-risk patients, on one innovative display.
With Banyan’s newest solution, the Virtual Care Platform, our intelligent monitors moved into the patient room. This care model facilitates virtual provider visits, complete with interactive content, for sharing key information (EMR, PACS, etc.) with patients, their families and other caregivers, from any location. As part of this solution, Banyan can provide virtual managed staffing to augment the bedside care team. This creates lower cost, but more effective care delivery, and enables better patient care.
