Teams at Ballotpedia

Paid, remote spring 2027 internship supporting Ballotpedia’s Editorial or Communications teams. Interns will research political and policy topics, create articles and promotional content, support social media and newsletters, track data and media mentions, assist with SEO and video content, and participate in planning and research projects. The program runs January 11 through May 7, 2027, for approximately 10–20 hours weekly.

Supports Ballotpedia’s sample ballot lookup app by researching election boundary rules, sourcing and georeferencing maps, creating and formatting shapefiles, entering boundaries into a database, and testing geographic data. The part-time remote internship runs January 11 through May 7, 2027, for approximately 10–20 hours per week. Interns receive weekly coordination meetings and may receive academic credit.

Research and monitor political news, government sources, candidates, officeholders, and elections. Update Ballotpedia articles and databases, verify data accuracy, conduct jurisdictional research, write and proofread neutral content, maintain tracking spreadsheets, and collaborate across teams. The role requires strong political knowledge, organization, communication, project management, attention to detail, and flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work.
