The VP of People will lead People operations and strategic HRBP functions for a remote-first, internationally expanding technology company. Responsibilities include designing engagement, culture, communications, retention, succession, manager development, onboarding, remote-work practices, and in-person gatherings. The role requires scaling organizations of approximately 500–1,000 employees, operating internationally, using AI agents, and building programs collaboratively while remaining hands-on.

Support Backblaze’s public-company legal and governance operations, including SEC filings, Section 16 reporting, insider trading administration, board and committee preparation, entity management, stock administration, litigation and insurance claims, subpoenas, and legal-process responses. Maintain governance records and deadline-driven calendars while coordinating with attorneys, executives, auditors, outside counsel, Finance, and other stakeholders. Use legal technology and AI tools to improve recurring workflows.

Lead commercial, privacy, and product legal functions for a cloud technology company. Draft and negotiate enterprise SaaS, partnership, reseller, and other technology agreements; advise on global privacy, data protection, AI, intellectual property, and product development; build legal playbooks and scalable contracting processes; and partner with Sales, Product, Engineering, Security, Compliance, and executive teams. Manage, mentor, and develop legal professionals while overseeing complex transactions and regulatory risk.
