Leads afternoon and evening newsdesk coverage by monitoring breaking developments, writing quick-turn spot news, editing national news stories, tracking key events, and alerting subject-matter experts. The role requires strong journalism, writing, editing, collaboration, communication, and digital and social media awareness. The writer-editor works Sunday through Thursday from 2pm to 10pm ET in a fast-paced newsroom environment.

Build and manage strategic relationships with advocacy organizations, nonprofits, policy groups, agencies, and stakeholders. Identify new partnership opportunities, generate leads, grow advertising revenue, represent Axios at industry events, and coordinate internally to execute partnership initiatives. The role requires digital media sales experience, strong Washington, D.C. advocacy relationships, quota achievement, strategic communication, and a mix of outbound prospecting and inbound relationship management.

Senior Counsel, Commercial will advise Axios revenue, product, sales, marketing, and operations teams; draft and negotiate commercial agreements; manage legal intake and workflows; counsel on privacy, data use, IP, regulatory, and product matters; oversee routine disputes and outside counsel; and provide pragmatic, business-focused guidance to senior leaders. The role requires independent ownership of complex transactions, strong judgment, and comfort using AI-enabled tools.
