The Data Engineer role focuses on developing predictive models and enhancing data engineering practices to support business objectives. Responsibilities include writing clean code, model evaluation, and collaboration with a global team to improve reporting and campaign management.

Develop, refactor and maintain backend services for a cloud-first marketing platform. Implement features, write well-tested Java (and occasionally TypeScript/Node.js) code, design distributed systems using streaming and queueing, collaborate with product/UX in agile teams, support migrations to AWS/serverless, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to code reviews and team development initiatives.

Act as a strategic affiliate marketing consultant for high-value advertisers: analyse programme performance, deliver data-driven recommendations, run client workshops and business reviews, identify growth opportunities, advise on affiliate strategy and publisher development, build trusted client relationships, and contribute to process improvements and team knowledge sharing.
