Provides technical leadership and daily support for specialty chemical manufacturing operations. Optimizes chemical processes, troubleshoots equipment and yield issues, investigates quality events, implements CAPAs, and supports safety and regulatory compliance. Leads capital improvement projects from design through commissioning, develops P&IDs and equipment specifications, and maintains SOPs and batch documentation. Collaborates with manufacturing, maintenance, quality, EHS, management, and union personnel in an onsite facility.

Leads continuous improvement initiatives across distribution centers, translating business objectives into actionable projects focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Responsibilities include Lean improvement events, process audits, safety walks, SOP maintenance, training development, data and metrics analysis, EWM enhancements, ROI analysis, and operational floor support. The role supervises change agents, manages multiple projects, presents to management, and travels up to 50%.

Lead design and optimization of end-to-end mRNA manufacturing processes (DNA template, IVT, enzymatic processing, purification, formulation). Apply DOE/QbD and statistical tools, troubleshoot process and quality issues, author technical and regulatory documents, support tech transfer and GMP activities, evaluate emerging technologies and vendors, and mentor junior scientists.
