Own process and thermal-system engineering across pilot, prototype, and 1 MW industrial heat-pump systems. Define and execute tests, analyze data, troubleshoot process and controls issues, develop operating sequences and protection requirements, and maintain P&IDs and procedures. Translate process intent into controls requirements, support commissioning, and implement validated engineering changes. The role works hands-on with technicians and engineers in a startup environment.

Design and package modular industrial heat-pump systems for production. Responsibilities include creating 3D CAD layouts, detailed drawings, BOMs, and controlled releases; designing piping, structures, supports, and interfaces; performing engineering calculations; leading DFMA and cost-reduction efforts; coordinating suppliers and external specialists; supporting fabrication, commissioning, troubleshooting, validation, and field issue resolution.

Own the mechanical integration and packaging of AtmosZero’s 1 MW industrial steam heat pump systems. Responsibilities include equipment layouts, process piping, structures, supports, enclosures, lifting and service access; integrating multidisciplinary hardware; creating 3D assemblies, drawings, BOMs and supplier packages; supporting fabrication, assembly and testing; resolving build issues and ECOs; and improving modular, repeatable designs for future production units.

Own controls implementation for a 1 MW industrial steam heat-pump system from PLC programming and architecture through testing, commissioning, and early operation. Develop modular control software, HMI/SCADA, industrial networking, diagnostics, alarms, data collection, and reusable deployment standards. Troubleshoot live industrial hardware, collaborate across engineering and field teams, maintain technical documentation, and convert first-unit learning into repeatable controls platforms and commissioning tools.

Own the mechanical integration of high-speed compressor assemblies into a 1 MW industrial heat pump. Responsibilities include developing models, drawings, BOMs, interfaces, and installation requirements; coordinating rotating equipment components; supporting suppliers, fabrication, assembly, commissioning, and testing; resolving mechanical issues; managing engineering changes; and improving designs for manufacturability, reliability, serviceability, and production readiness.

Develop and mature production-intent compressor hardware for industrial heat pumps. Own turbomachinery workstreams spanning aerodynamic and mechanical design, rotor dynamics, motors, bearings, seals, instrumentation, supplier execution, cost reduction, testing, and validation. Analyze performance, vibration, thermal behavior, structural integrity, and component life; lead design reviews, supplier qualification, prototype builds, troubleshooting, failure investigations, and corrective actions. Translate system requirements into designs and validation plans while driving manufacturability, reliability, cost, and production readiness.
