Supports audit engagements for local businesses and nonprofits by analyzing financial and operational processes, testing internal controls, preparing working papers, conducting client fieldwork, maintaining confidential files, researching issues, and assisting with client relationships under supervision. The internship runs from mid-January through mid-April 2027, with potential future internship or entry-level opportunities based on performance.

Lead governmental audit engagements from planning and risk assessment through fieldwork and reporting with limited supervision. Responsibilities include evaluating internal controls, performing substantive testing, preparing audit working papers and draft reports, reviewing financial statements, researching technical issues, coordinating client information requests, communicating findings, and maintaining organized confidential engagement files. The role requires substantial governmental accounting and auditing knowledge, strong judgment, analytical ability, communication skills, and proficiency with audit and accounting software.

Performs bookkeeping and accounting tasks for multiple clients, including general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close support, financial reporting, and financial data verification. The role also supports accounting policy compliance, confidential client file management, client and vendor communication, and process improvement. This on-site position requires proficiency with QuickBooks, accounting software, GAAP, tax-basis accounting, Microsoft Office, and professional client service.
