The Senior Accountant maintains accurate nonprofit financial records and supports month-end and year-end close, financial statement preparation, grant and restricted-fund accounting, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, audits, Form 990 preparation, compliance reporting, and accounts payable oversight. The role ensures adherence to GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, grant requirements, internal controls, and donor restrictions while advising program teams and improving accounting processes.

Oversee general accounting operations, transaction reviews, reconciliations, close processes, audits, grant accounting, restricted funding, internal controls, and financial reporting. Supervise and develop accounting staff, ensure nonprofit compliance, review cash flow and funding analyses, support auditors and grantors, and improve accounting processes and controls. The role provides technical accounting guidance across departments while supporting organizational financial stewardship.

Coordinates accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, customer billing, collections, account reconciliations, workflow monitoring, and financial reporting support. Serves as a finance systems champion, supports ERP and workflow improvements, assists with month-end close and audits, maintains documentation and internal controls, and collaborates with staff, vendors, customers, funding partners, and auditors.
