Manufacturing Engineering Intern supporting engineering projects on an injection molding production floor. The intern will receive equipment operation and maintenance training, collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Purchasing, suppliers, and customers, and present project findings to management. The role requires pursuing an engineering bachelor’s degree, strong mechanical reasoning, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, adaptability, and adherence to safety and housekeeping standards.

Assists the Plastics Engineer with developing, optimizing, documenting, and auditing injection molding processes. Supports new mold sampling, tool changeovers, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and production improvements using scientific molding, statistical analysis, and technical documentation. Works on the manufacturing floor with molding machinery, automation, and assembly equipment while following quality and safety procedures.

Leads the design, development, performance, and continuous improvement of injection molding tooling. Coordinates tool design reviews, debugging, corrective actions, cost, quality, and delivery while collaborating with customers, suppliers, manufacturing, quality, engineering, and tool room teams. Provides technical support on the production floor and uses CAD, preferably SolidWorks, to review tool designs. Travel up to 25% domestically with some international travel is required.
