The Staff Engineer will lead system design, coding, testing, deployment, reliability, and operational excellence while solving distributed-systems challenges. Responsibilities include making architectural decisions, translating product requirements into technical solutions, mentoring engineers, defining backend standards, and driving cross-functional technical initiatives. The role is highly hands-on and requires expertise in databases, queues, caching, cloud infrastructure, and building services from scratch.

Lead product strategy, roadmap, agent architecture, reliability, evaluations, guardrails, consumer experience, research, hiring, and cross-functional work with compliance, legal, payments, and the CEO. Build a founding team and determine what to build, buy, or partner on across models, orchestration, data connections, and payment rails.

Leads and mentors engineering teams, sets technical direction, contributes to architecture and hands-on problem-solving, and drives end-to-end delivery. Partners with Product, Support, and Operations to prioritize work, remove blockers, maintain engineering quality, and improve pod-level performance metrics.
