Teams at Areté

Designs, models, builds, aligns, tests, and validates laser, optical, electro-optical, and sensor systems. Responsibilities include developing simulations, specifications, diagnostics, test procedures, and documentation; analyzing experimental data; supporting manufacturing and engineering teams; conducting field demonstrations; preparing technical proposals; and serving as principal investigator for DoD research and development projects.

Leads quality engineering for laser and electro-optical systems in a regulated defense environment. Owns nonconformance, SCAR, and corrective action lifecycles; leads root cause investigations; verifies corrective action effectiveness; improves inspection plans, process controls, and manufacturing workflows; supports AS9100 compliance, audits, design reviews, and MRB meetings; monitors supplier performance; and collaborates across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and program management.

Designs, models, documents, assembles, and tests custom mechanical systems and components. Responsibilities include developing specifications, performing calculations and simulations, creating manufacturing and assembly drawings, supporting fabrication, conducting design reviews, and assisting with laboratory and field testing. The role requires hands-on machine shop and hardware integration work, with occasional outdoor testing, lifting, and 10–20% travel. Undersea, airborne, robotics, mechatronics, and autonomous or unmanned vehicle experience is preferred.
