Performs high-complexity molecular and microbiology testing, including PCR, sequencing, organism identification, and susceptibility testing. Reviews and releases clinical results, troubleshoots assay and specimen issues, maintains equipment, performs quality control, and supports assay validation and verification. The technologist trains staff, contributes to workflow improvement, supports regulatory inspections, and ensures compliance with CLIA and other applicable requirements while handling potentially hazardous materials.

Performs routine molecular diagnostic and microbiology testing, including PCR assays, specimen processing, organism identification, Gram staining, and susceptibility testing. Maintains instruments, performs quality control, troubleshoots testing issues, validates assays, reviews results, and supports regulatory inspection readiness. The role follows laboratory safety and aseptic procedures, handles hazardous materials, assists with training, and participates in quality improvement initiatives.
