The Staff Mechanical Engineer will design a robotic hand, leading the architecture and ensuring robust, dexterous manipulation while collaborating across teams. Responsibilities include structural design, prototyping, analysis, and production readiness.

Bring highly articulated robotic hands from CAD to working prototypes. Perform hardware bring-up, diagnostics, calibration, component and assembly testing, and HIL testbed development. Analyze and report test data, debug electro-mechanical issues, and coordinate across mechanical, electrical, and autonomy teams to achieve reliable, human-level dexterity.

Lead system-level architecture, requirements, and V&V for Apollo's perception suite. Translate autonomy capabilities into verifiable requirements, run trade studies, define ICDs, manage system budgets, and ensure functional safety compliance while mentoring teams and aligning autonomy and hardware engineering.
