Teams at APM Terminals

The Senior HSE Business Partner will improve health, safety, and environmental performance across APM Terminals in the Americas. Responsibilities include partnering with terminal leaders, executing HSE improvement plans, monitoring risks and trends, investigating serious incidents, coaching leaders, developing HSE talent, supporting due diligence, and leading continuous-improvement initiatives. The role is based in Panama and requires frequent travel throughout North, Central, and South America.

Plans and coordinates vessel and yard operations, including cargo control, load and discharge sequences, vessel stability, yard planning, container inventory, and terminal system updates. Collaborates with shipping lines, stowage planners, and terminal teams to resolve discrepancies, manage disruptions, optimize equipment utilization, and support safe, efficient operations. Monitors operational metrics and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.

Leads the electrical scope of a major terminal modernization project, overseeing design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and integration testing. Manages substations, high-voltage infrastructure, consultants, vendors, and contractors while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, budget, and performance targets. Reviews technical documentation, monitors project controls, addresses risks and changes, and provides HSSE leadership. Requires substantial electrical engineering experience in large-scale infrastructure, heavy industry, or container terminal projects.
