Lead system safety and hazard management for NASA flight research activities. Develop safety plans, maintain hazard databases and continuous risk management, analyze reliability and maintainability, facilitate safety working groups, support design and flight readiness reviews, and present risks to NASA management and safety boards. Apply FMEA and fault tree analysis to identify and mitigate hazards affecting personnel, hardware, and mission success.

Designs and analyzes wind tunnel models, mechanical mechanisms, and structural components at NASA Langley. Responsibilities include wind tunnel model stress analysis using hand calculations, 3D modeling, structural design, and optional simple FEA modeling. Requires a bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering and at least 15 years of wind tunnel design and analysis experience.

Leads and mentors electrical engineers designing, integrating, testing, and troubleshooting electronic systems for flight missions. Responsibilities include circuit, power, mixed-signal, digital, and harness design; integration of cameras, lasers, GPS, storage, computation, and scientific instruments; Altium and PSPICE use; PCB fabrication coordination; assembly; and lifecycle delivery from concept through manufacturing and testing.
