Lead industrial design for robotics hardware from concept through production. Define visual and tactile product language, develop production-ready CAD models, engineering drawings, CMF specifications, prototypes, and manufacturing solutions. Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers, suppliers, and tooling teams while applying DFM, DFA, ergonomics, human factors, serviceability, and environmental requirements to deployed robotic products.

Own the mechanical architecture and design of mobile robots and robotic arms, including structures, drivetrains, actuation, mechanisms, enclosures, and thermal systems. Lead analysis, prototyping, testing, failure resolution, manufacturing documentation, supplier collaboration, and production qualification. Establish mechanical design standards, ensure field serviceability and environmental robustness, and mentor engineers while collaborating with electrical, firmware, controls, software, and industrial design teams.

Design and operate bare-metal, high-scale distributed infrastructure for air-gapped and regulated environments. Responsibilities include architecting Kafka or Redpanda clusters, high-availability PostgreSQL systems, Ceph or MinIO storage, rack-aware replication, quorum and failover topologies, and Linux performance tuning. Produce implementation-ready architectures and runbooks for DevOps automation, evaluate client hardware, and make deployment go/no-go decisions. The role requires production experience at terabyte-to-petabyte scale and hands-on expertise with infrastructure failure modes.
