Lead the design, construction, and operation of test stands for small modular gas turbines. Own test infrastructure, instrumentation, DAQ, safety systems, procedures, hazard reviews, abort limits, and control-room operations. Run high-energy rotating and combustion hardware tests, rapidly turn around builds, reduce data using Python or similar tools, compare results with models, and identify design risks. The role requires disciplined test execution, strong safety judgment, and experience with complex machinery and test facilities.

Own clean-sheet mechanical design of small modular gas turbines, including rotors, stators, combustors, cases, bearings, materials, and subsystem interfaces. Perform structural, thermal, and rotordynamic analyses; assess fatigue and durability; design for manufacturability; and work with suppliers and machinists to produce reliable hardware. The role spans conceptual sizing through detailed design and running test articles in a high-ownership seed-stage environment.

Own the end-to-end high-voltage DC power conversion architecture for distributed gas turbine systems. Define conversion, protection, controls interfaces, and multi-unit plant operating schemes. Lead build-versus-buy decisions, supplier selection, specifications, hardware qualification, integration, and testing. Build and eventually lead the internal power electronics team. The role requires deep experience with EV power electronics, wide-bandgap semiconductors, production converter design, thermal management, magnetics, EMC, and field reliability.
