Leads and develops a team of regional government relations directors, supporting strategy, planning, hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management. Designs project management systems, workflows, and reporting processes to coordinate distributed, multi-workstream initiatives and ensure accountability. Bridges regional staff with headquarters teams, translates field insights into actionable guidance, and supports advocacy and relationship-building efforts. The role is based in Washington, DC, follows a hybrid schedule, and requires approximately 10% travel.

Leads federal government relations and bipartisan policy advocacy on flood resilience, disaster response, infrastructure, and related priorities. Builds relationships with congressional offices, committees, federal agencies, administration officials, and external stakeholders; manages two direct reports; develops policy messaging and advocacy materials; and supports Federal team strategy, events, and cross-organizational initiatives. The role requires extensive government relations experience, strong political judgment, exceptional communication skills, and periodic travel.

The Senior Communications Associate translates complex flood policy, scientific, and technical information into clear content across policy explainers, web pages, reports, op-eds, press releases, social media, and executive communications. The role supports media relations, legislative messaging, communications campaigns, social strategy, audience growth, and digital analytics while coordinating with policy, government relations, programs, and state teams.
