Schedules patients, obtains prior authorizations, verifies insurance and medical necessity, assigns diagnosis codes, processes ABNs, prepares service estimates, and explains financial responsibilities. Maintains accurate patient and test-order information, coordinates with providers and clinical departments, protects confidential data, and provides courteous patient support. May also troubleshoot scheduling-system issues and perform related patient financial services duties.

Provide outpatient and surgical orthopedic care with a sports medicine focus, treating acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries. Support local high school and collegiate athletic programs, collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams, participate in a shared remote orthopedic call rotation, maintain medical documentation, and contribute to quality improvement and medical staff activities.

Maintains the healthcare organization’s infection prevention and control program. Monitors healthcare-associated infections, communicable diseases, laboratory data, cleaning and sterilization processes, and surveillance indicators. Investigates outbreaks and exposures, recommends isolation precautions, develops evidence-based policies, provides staff education, reports findings to committees and agencies, supports regulatory survey readiness, and collaborates across departments to reduce infection transmission.
