A First Nations university student internship providing hands-on experience in corporate business teams such as operations, finance, IT, digital services, knowledge services, marketing, and people development. Interns work on real projects, receive mentoring and support, build professional networks, and explore career pathways beyond legal practice across Allens’ Australian offices.

The First Nations Legal Internship provides Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander law students with practical experience in a commercial legal environment. Interns join a practice group, work alongside lawyers on real matters, participate in community and pro bono activities, and receive mentoring from a partner and junior lawyer. The program also provides exposure to career pathways, clerkship recruitment, networking, and professional development across Allens’ Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth offices.

Supports legal and business research, current awareness, training, and management of physical and digital library resources for a law firm. The role involves responding to research requests, maintaining collections, working with information providers, monitoring emerging technologies including AI, supporting legal research platform training, and improving research workflows and user experience.
