Systems Engineering Intern supporting autonomous defense systems through requirements definition, systems integration, verification planning, testing, engineering analysis, modeling, simulation, and margin or budget analysis. The role is an on-site summer internship in Austin, Texas, collaborating directly with mechanical, electrical, software, and controls engineers on Bullfrog counter-drone systems.

Leads computer vision, machine learning, and tracking teams while translating AI strategy into roadmaps, standards, and deliverables. Manages managers, mentors technical staff, coordinates cross-disciplinary engineering efforts, owns schedule execution, and drives integration risk resolution. Establishes model evaluation and reproducibility practices, reviews code, develops prototypes, and supports architecture decisions for real-time perception systems.

Build and integrate 3D assets, materials, shaders, animations, visual effects, tools, and content workflows in Unreal Engine 5. Collaborate with engineers and technical artists to develop real-time visual systems, automate pipelines with Blueprints and Python, investigate graphics and performance issues, and document technical decisions. The intern will contribute to projects involving Nanite, Lumen, Niagara, Chaos, and other real-time technologies.
