Leads regional underwriting strategy, profitability, portfolio management, quality assurance, and growth across the Southwest. Provides national underwriting leadership for Commercial Auto and Umbrella/Excess, developing guidelines, pricing methodologies, coverage recommendations, and responses to industry trends. Partners with product, actuarial, claims, legal, finance, and technology teams while mentoring underwriters and maintaining broker relationships. The role requires extensive regional travel, multi-state insurance licensing, and deep commercial lines underwriting expertise.

Supervise and develop workers’ compensation claims staff while ensuring accurate, timely, compliant claims handling. The role oversees quality assurance, workload balancing, performance management, regulatory compliance, customer service, process improvement, and collaboration with regional and divisional leaders. The supervisor also participates in organizational projects, manages change, and supports succession planning.

Provides enterprise-level loss control expertise for complex, high-severity insurance risks. Partners with underwriting, business development, agencies, and policyholders on risk selection, pre-bind evaluations, pricing, and service strategies. Interprets portfolio assessment data, conducts advanced industrial hygiene evaluations, develops technical standards and training, mentors loss control professionals, and leads cross-regional initiatives. Supports growth in an emerging territory while advancing consistency, technical quality, and enterprise risk management.
