Fernando Silveira said AKASA’s engineers carefully maintain a balance between prioritizing projects to deliver results more quickly and approaching technical challenges with a first principles mindset. This elemental approach has been helpful in building a system that can be considered the “eyes” of the company’s platform, helping it understand what it sees and interacts with. “I love knowing our technology helps people spend less time on tasks and more time caring for patients,” Silveira said. “It’s the sort of stuff that makes you jump out of bed in the morning.”

According to Armaghan Behlum, it’s not enough for AKASA’s engineers to simply build automation technology. “We must create it in a way that is stable, robust and reusable,” he said. Behlum and his peers work in tandem with the company’s revenue cycle operations team, which enables them to learn from other employees and build powerful tools. While this collaboration has proven effective so far, Behlum’s team is always evolving in order to deliver the best solutions. “As AKASA grows, we’re scaling what we do and who we work with,” he said.
