Manage day-to-day Planning Department operations and perform project management. Review environmental documents, plans, zoning and code enforcement; prepare staff reports and presentations; coordinate with departments and agencies; guide junior staff and assist Director with policy, goals, and special projects.

Performs municipal and development planning tasks including processing development and permit applications, conducting plan checks, preparing reports and ordinances, performing research and data analysis, maintaining tracking systems, managing assigned projects independently, and conducting field inspections to ensure consistency with Tribal codes and standards.

Provides administrative support for the Tribal Programs Department, including answering calls, assisting staff and Tribal Members, preparing meetings and materials, maintaining files and supplies, processing check requests, distributing mail, updating event calendars, and issuing Tribal Member identification cards. The role requires professional guest service, organization, attention to detail, confidentiality, communication skills, Microsoft Office proficiency, and occasional weekend availability.
