Controller responsible for financial and accounting operations at a construction company, including job costing, P&L reporting, budgeting, project accounting, union payroll, fringe benefits, insurance audits and claims, incident management, and tax preparation. This is a full-time, onsite position in the Northern San Francisco Bay Area.

Manage accounting for closely held businesses, including client assignments, compilations, reviews, financial statement preparation, and related projects. The role requires public accounting and tax knowledge, proficiency with CCH software, and strong communication skills. Perform tax planning for closely held businesses, review tax returns, research and resolve complex tax issues, and develop client recommendations. Collaborate with partners, clients, and senior accountants while managing tax projects, deadlines, and client relationships. The role requires public accounting tax experience, accounting or related education, EA or CPA credentials or progress toward them, and proficiency with accounting and tax software.
