Reports on local and state politics, government conflicts, school board disputes, and community power struggles across New Jersey. Produces breaking news, enterprise, trend, investigative, and potentially longform stories. Builds sources, engages audiences, and publishes across written, social video, podcast, and other multimedia platforms while meeting deadlines and collaborating with editors and reporters.

Newsroom interns contribute to breaking news coverage and enterprising projects across news, features, sports, and visuals. They work under experienced editors, receive mentorship and newsroom training, and produce accurate, engaging journalism. Internships last 10 weeks and are available in winter, summer, and fall. Interns must arrange housing and have reliable transportation to meet sources and cover events.

Report multiple data-driven stories weekly using public records, live data, and AI-assisted workflows. Responsibilities include scraping, cleaning, analyzing, and verifying datasets; building visualizations, interactive maps, lookup tools, and dashboards; interviewing sources; publishing across digital channels; and collaborating with newsroom teams. The role requires careful human review of AI-assisted work, strong journalistic ethics, deadline management, and the ability to translate complex data into engaging stories for New Jersey readers.
