Build reliable backend systems that make an automated biology lab programmable. Responsibilities include architecting data pipelines for protein characterization data, designing APIs, integrating laboratory instruments and robotics, orchestrating workflows, and transforming heterogeneous physical-instrument data into structured datasets. The role involves close collaboration with scientists and automation engineers and requires strong software architecture, pragmatism, autonomy, and interest in biology.

Build full-stack product software for LabOS, orchestrating automated biology experiments across scheduling, execution, data capture, and results processing. Develop APIs and interfaces for scientists and AI agents, create AI agents and troubleshooting tools, integrate laboratory hardware through programmatic APIs, and design scheduling systems for complex instrument workflows. Own substantial product areas while working independently in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.

Lead a small, highly technical engineering team building software infrastructure for an automated wet lab. Own the roadmap and technical architecture across frontend, backend, data pipelines, and lab-hardware integration. Remain hands-on shipping high-leverage code, hire and grow engineers, set engineering standards, and embed AI-assisted development to accelerate delivery and reliability of production experiments.
