Vision Engineer
Augmented reality, computer vision, and spatial AI – engineered for Apple platforms.
Vision Engineer is the augmented reality, computer vision, and spatial AI practice of Tony Morales.
Since 2017 he has built software that understands and transforms the real world for iOS, visionOS, and macOS. Clients include Mozilla, Walmart, Carnegie Mellon University, and over a dozen more funded startups, R&D teams, and enterprises. Several of his apps have been featured by Apple, and his client work has been featured by HBO and Axios.
The work spans four capabilities:
1. Placing virtual objects in the real world with shared, relocalized AR
2. Transforming real spaces, images, and objects with generative and custom-trained AI
3. Seeing and understanding real space with computer vision, from person segmentation to SLAM and sensor fusion
4. Capturing the world in 3D with RoomPlan, photogrammetry, LiDAR, and Gaussian splatting.
Alongside client work, Vision Engineer ships its own products: minimap, Mirage, and Twin, all on the App Store.
Engagements are contract, typically weekly or hourly. More at vision.engineer.
